Artist’s Statement
My work begins with a pause.
In a world that moves quickly and demands constant attention, I create paintings that invite stillness—spaces of breath and quiet where the eye can rest without being overwhelmed by detail or perfection. I’m drawn to simplicity not as absence, but as presence: the kind of pared-back clarity that allows meaning to surface on its own.
Working in layers of gesture, texture, and subtle contrast, I explore the tension between control and surrender. Each piece is a conversation between intention and chance—between the movements I plan and the ones that arrive unbidden when I give the medium room to speak. This balance is where I find flow, that rare state where craft and curiosity intersect and something unexpected emerges.
My practice is rooted in the belief that creativity is a form of freedom. In a hyperconnected world where we regularly absorb more than we express, making art feels like reclaiming space—space to notice, to feel, to imagine. My studio is the place where I wring out the spark that lives inside me, following it as it drips, spreads, or bursts across the surface. The resulting work reflects both the quiet and the energy of that process.
I’m inspired by the small cracks and crevices of daily life—the overlooked moments where beauty gathers softly and waits to be acknowledged. Through abstraction, I aim to create openings for the viewer to step into their own inner landscape, to pause and breathe, and to reconnect with what moves them.
